How is life after you were saved?
Is your life different? - How is it different?
Can you do the same things as before?
These questions and several others has been on my heart a lot lately.
Over the last 1½ years I have changed.. I have become a new person.. I have been born again.
That being said. I still watch TV, I still listen to music.. But with a new outlook.. An view of life, of what is right and wrong. What is good and what is bad has been less black and white for me, it has been a journey, a very slow process.
It started with the little things.. Not feeling it was OK to watch a TV show I use to watch. Not thinking music was appropriate to listen to.. It scarred me at first, but then I felt, when I made those changes it made me more harmonious with the new life had given me. I felt more in peace.
There was also the big change of what I wanted to wear. I felt my modesty standards change a lot. Things I would wear at a festive occasion, I wont even wear outside.
My standards are covered towards collarbone and down to the knee..
I even had to purchase a new wedding dress.. Because I was simply not comfortable wearing the one I originally purchased (I did use it for a small wedding with only 4 guests).
But now what? I can not listen to music or watch TV because everything is bad? And do I also need to buy a new wardrobe?
We have switched to listening to 95% Christian music, we have sorted out in the TV shows we watch, and we are currently working on a list of Wholesome TV and movies.
As far as my wardrobe goes, yes there has been new purchases.. But also just changing how I wear something, is the shirt to low cut? - I will wear it with a cami underneath.. Some of my skirts were just to short to wear with anything, but other can for example be worn with a slip. It is all about the little changes.
I guess the conclusion is Yes, your life is going to be very different, after all, you have been given a new life.. Your world view will change. As scary as it may be, it is also the most fantastic thing.
You are finally opening your heart to the one who loves you the most.
I Have been very blessed to have extremely supportive family, who guided me when I needed it, and kept silent when I wanted to figure things out myself.
I also have a very patient husband who has been with me on this journey. And helps me find the answers to the questions that come up.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
