I can do all this through him who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:13
It has been a lot longer than usual between my posts. And this is kind of a messy post. jumping between all the things I have been thinking of the last months. So much has happened since September. I had my precious baby (still writing my birth story), and have struggled with some health issues. But these things are not the only ones that have happened. I have gotten closer to God in a way I did not know was possible, and I did not know I needed. First of all, being a parent has taught me that I do not have strength to only rely on myself, and every time I do it goes horribly wrong, and as soon as I turn to God for help things start to go smoother. I have also learned that no matter how much it pains me I have to give up more control that I feel comfortable with. Overall becoming a parent has really pushed me beyond so many comfort zones in the most beautiful way. While all these have been a wonderful learning process and has helped me to grow as a wife, and as a mother, the most amazing thing it has taught me is what a parents love means. Being a mother has given me a peak at the love our Father feels for us. What unconditional love and true patience really is. All though I do not posses the ability to love as God, it is such an amazing feeling to know that someone loves me like I love my daughter and beyond.. Another thing that has me in awe is not only does God love me more than I can comprehend, but he trusted me with this precious little life.. One of his own, he has entrusted me to raise, care for and teach about him. This scares me, inspires me and humbles me, but most of all it gives me a completely renewed passion for talking about our heavenly Father. A bible study is no longer a bible study, its now for me to get to know God, so I can share with my daughter and she can share with the world. But what an amazing and wonderful journey I have started and I am ever thankful for this gift. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. - 1. Timothy 4:12
Me and my husband choose a few months ago that we wanted to do more than 'just' give to our church. So we decided that each month one of us will choose a charity we give to. My first month I choose Voice of the Martyrs (visit their website HER), and we donated some money and purchased these bracelets and plan to give a few away. 50% go to persecuted Christians. This months we have chosen Faithbox, once I recieve our box I will write a review, it seems very promising. What are some of your favorite charities to give to?
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24.
